MOM’S DAY OUT
Hey, friends! Mother’s Day is just around the corner, and it’s the perfect chance to show your mom how much she means to you. Sure, traditional gifts like flowers, chocolates, and cards are great, but why not step it up a notch this year? We know what moms want most… YOUR TIME! We’ve got some ideas to help you elevate her experience and make this year’s celebration extra special for your amazing mom! And don’t worry if you’re a mom trying to drop some hints to your family – we’ve got you covered too! Let’s get to it…
FOR THE MOM WHO LIKES TO BE PAMPERED
Spa Day: Treat your mom to a luxurious spa day. Go with her! Book her a relaxing massage, a facial, and a pedicure. This will give her a chance to unwind and feel pampered, and it will also show her how much you care. Our favorites are:
Spalon Montage
Watershedspa.com
(They have a really cool package for $75 on Friday and Sunday mornings that includes a restorative yoga class + steam, sauna, hot bath, and a cold plunge.)
FOR THE MOM WHO LIKES WINE
Wine Tasting: If your mom is a wine connoisseur, take her on a wine-tasting tour. Many vineyards and wineries offer tastings and tours, which is a great way to learn about wine while spending quality time with your mom. Our go-to is Dancing Dragonfly Winery and they have a ton of events coming up in the next couple of weeks to attend!
FOR THE MOM WHO LIKES BEER
Beer Tasting: If your mom loves beer, consider taking her on a beer-tasting tour. You’ll get to sample some delicious brews while spending time together. There are a ton of great places in the Twin Cities area, but one place that we hold near and dear to our hearts and is owned by our senior designer’s family is Trap Rock Brewing Company.
FOR THE MOM WHO LIKES TO COOK
Cooking Class: If your mom enjoys cooking, sign up for a cooking class. This is a fun and educational experience to do together that will allow you both to learn new recipes and techniques while having fun in the kitchen. ***Note to mom, this doesn’t mean her cooking needs to be improved! 😝 It’s all just for fun and something different!***
Some we recommend are:
Cooks on Crocus Hill
The Board Loon
FOR THE MOM WHO LOVES ADVENTURE
Adventure Activities: If your mom is an adventure junkie, consider planning a day full of adventure activities. You could go hiking, kayaking, boating, or even a hot air balloon ride! This is a unique and exciting experience that will create memories that will last a lifetime for all involved! Finding good enough weather in MN might be tricky, but Stillwater Balloons does it best and can guide you through the booking process.
FOR THE MOM WHO LOVES TO CREATE
Art Class: If your mom is artistic, consider signing her up for an art class. This is a great opportunity for her to learn a new skill, express her creativity, and spend quality time with you.
Here are some local ones we recommend:
Cheers Pablo
Board and Brush
Kari’s Create Studio
FOR THE MOM WHO LOVES TO SHOP
Shopping Spree: If your mom loves shopping, why not take her on a shopping spree? You could hit up some of her favorite stores or explore some new boutiques. Our favorite is Patina, but be careful because if you’re anything like us, you’ll want it ALL!
FOR THE MOM WHO LOVES BEING A CHEERLEADER
Sporting Events: If your mom is a sports fan, why not take her to a game or match? Whether it’s a pro baseball team, or a family member’s track meet it’s a great way to bond over your shared love of sports.
There are many ways to elevate the experience of Mother’s Day. These are just a few ideas to get you started. Whatever you do, make sure to spend some quality time with your mom and show her how much you care. Any of these ideas will show your mom how much she means to you and make this year’s celebration truly special. The main theme here is QUALITY TIME! Happy Mother’s Day!
