Our design team took the time to round-up 12 interior design trends that stood out at this year’s Highpoint Market. It’s so fun to see what’s “in”! Follow along to see the currently trending finds that are sure to be here for a bit.
1. Boucle fabric
A huge trend at this year’s Highpoint Market was boucle fabric. We saw this texture through furniture pieces, pillows, throw blankets and more.
2. Brass
Brass is still a crowd favorite finish, and we don’t see it going out of style any time soon! How stunning is this mirror?
3. Burlwood
Wood always warms up a room, so we were happy to see a different take on the universal material. We saw burlwood in a wide range of pieces from coffee tables, dressers, accessories, chairs, etc. We absolutely love the rich character that burlwood brings to even the simplest of furniture pieces.
4. Brown is back
We’re seeing brown make a comeback and we’re loving it! Many different shades from taupey-browns, to rusty-reds to purpley-browns (which we have nicknamed as the color ‘Raisin’).
5. Leather accents
Leather is IN! We are excited to see how it’s being implemented into details of furniture pieces, as well as an option for cabinet pulls. Also seeing leather-wrapped details or leather accents on pillows or upholstered pieces is so much fun.
6. Reeded wood details
Reeded wood adds such a beautiful texture for case goods such as dressers, nightstands, headboards, tables, etc., making them a focal point in any room. Reeded wood looks wonderful when paired with some fun dresser or nightstand hardware also.
7. Gold inlay details
We love this classy look! We saw it mostly on the tops of tables, or borders on headboards. The inlay looks lovely with a dark wood tone that makes the gold accent pop.
8. Pleated shades
We are here for this trend! “Vintage Modern” is a growing style and pleated shades fit perfectly into this category.
9. Earth tones + Greens are here to stay
Muted, nature-inspired earth tones are everywhere. Green has been a popular color story over the past few markets, and is still going strong!
10. White gesso textures
This was a hot trend especially in lamps and light fixtures! We love this minimal, yet significant look and hope it’s here to stay for a bit.
11. Colored velvet
Everyone loves a good velvet! Market brought on tons of colored velvet fabrics. These are a great way to bring a pop of color into any space!
12. Rounded/curved shapes
Rounded, arched shapes are definitely on trend. The look tends to feel more organic-modern feel with simplified, curved forms in furniture, lighting, etc.
