With new faces joining our newsletter list every day, we thought it would be a wonderful idea to have you meet our team. It only makes sense to have Interior Impressions owner, Amy Leferink, begin this series. She is the go-to design expert, and also just happens to be the best boss we could ever ask for. Welcome to our Meet the Team Series!
1. WHAT IS YOUR ROLE IN THE COMPANY?
I am the owner and principal designer of Interior Impressions.
2. WHAT ARE THREE WORDS THAT WOULD DESCRIBE YOU?
Caring. Hardworking. Genuine. (The team agrees wholeheartedly!)
3. WHAT DOES A TYPICAL DAY LOOK LIKE FOR YOU?
I always start my day with my Miracle Morning routine filled with gratitude, prayer, meditation, exercise, read or listen to a podcast, and then get ready for work. Then I work until about 5:30/6:00, head home and make dinner. After dinner I do more admin work while watching a show with my husband, then go to bed around 10:30.
4. WHAT ARE THREE HABITS THAT YOU HAVE THAT YOU ATTRIBUTE TO YOUR SUCCESS?
1. Defining and writing down my goals and specific things I need to do to make them happen.
2. Working hard and not giving up.
3. Constantly trying to make sure I am providing value to others. Helping others become successful is the best way to become successful yourself.
5. WHEN AND WHY DID YOU DECIDE TO BECOME A DESIGNER?
I have loved making homes beautiful since I was a little girl. I started taking interior design classes after my second child was born. I didn’t give myself permission to fully pursue it as a career until I was about 40 years old. I’ve learned so much from all of those experiences though and don’t have any regrets!
6. WHAT’S A GOAL YOU HAVE FOR YOURSELF THAT YOU HOPE TO ACCOMPLISH IN THE NEXT YEAR?
Business – I am working hard to continue to grow Interior Impressions at a rate of 25% each year.
Personal – To take a little bit of time off of work to really enjoy family and do fun things. Trying not to work so many hours each week!
7. WHO IS SOMEONE YOU ADMIRE AND WHY?
I admire my business coach, Gail Doby. She is incredibly accomplished, but truly has made such a difference in so many lives. She has helped so many business owners and has made our lives so much better. She really cares about others, and is very generous and charitable.
8. WHAT ARE YOU HAPPIEST DOING WHEN YOU’RE NOT WORKING?
I am happiest when I have my family around me. I love playing with my granddaughter, Millie. I also love to entertain and spend time on our boat with family and friends.
9. WHAT IS ONE PIECE OF ADVICE YOU’D GIVE TO YOUR YOUNGER SELF?
To be more confident to go after what I wanted in life! I think I was afraid to take risks and didn’t feel worthy of achieving my dreams. I would suggest finding mentors to help you through all the different phases of life. Surround yourself with good people. I’m so blessed to have a great team to work with! Don’t be afraid to ask for help. We all do better with help from others!
10. How do you want to be remembered?
The most important thing to me is how I treat others. I hope people would say that I genuinely cared and tried to be the best mom, wife, relative, mentor or friend I could be.
I hope that the people I love will feel that I made a difference in their lives and always knew how much I cared about them!
It was so fun to hear about Amy, her attributes to her success, and her goals for Interior Impressions. We hope you also enjoyed getting to know Amy a bit more, and the kick-off of our Meet the Team Series!
Stay tuned for next Wednesday when we get to meet and hear more about our designer, Kierstyn Timmers.
XO,
Interior Impressions Team

Greetings Amy, I just saw the article in Good Housekeeping showing the shower you did with teak wall panels. I really like the alternating parquet type what is pictured in the show, but there is no reference in the article on where to get it. Can you tell me what the product is and where to get it? Thank you!
Amy Leferink says
Hi Mark, Unfortunately, those specific tiles are no longer available. They were sourced from The Tile Shop. The similar products listed in the article were current as of Jan 3. Hope you are able to find something similar that works for your project! Best wishes, Amy
