Interior Impressions made an annual trip down to High Point, North Carolina last week for the Fall 2020 Market. Here we met with several of our vendors to explore new home furnishing and accessory lines and products. This keeps our team updated, educated and informed on the latest and greatest, so we can ensure we are bringing fresh ideas and products to all our clients and projects. Today on the blog, Amy and Kierstyn are recapping the trip– rounding up some of their favorite products and trends from this season’s Market!
Amy’s Product Picks
This rug is one of my favorites because it has a gorgeous vintage feel and consists of a beautiful mix of autumn colors along with soft grays. The colors are a lot softer when you see it in person. This rug is a high quality, hand-knotted wool that will last forever. It has a classic, timeless look that also happens to be very on-trend right now! The vintage look is very much in style this season and I especially love it when paired with modern furnishings.
2. Green Oaks Wall Pendant, Palacek
This wall sconce isn’t new but I still love it as much as last year when I first laid eyes on it! It has beautiful hand tied rope detailing and a unique look as the cord wraps around a metal post and then plugs into a wall outlet. No hard wiring is required and you can use this sconce just about anywhere. I think they’d be adorable over nightstands in a bedroom or on a living room wall.
This is a new chair this market. It is soooo comfortable and it also comes in a swivel chair version called Chance. I love the cushioned back and taller seat back so you can curl up and rest your head against the back cushion.
4. Deer Valley Console, Lexington
Barclay Butera’s new Park City furnishing collection for Lexington is gorgeous and brings an entirely different feel than his coastal collection from last season. I love both collections so much, but it was fun to see a modern lodge feel this fall. The wood finish on this console piece is beautiful and has a slightly rustic feel. There is a burnished metal detail on the bottom of each leg. This piece is the perfect size to fit 2 stools or box cushions underneath. It’s a great table to put behind a sofa for extra movie watching seating, or in a foyer as a welcoming accent with stools to help with putting your shoes on.
5. Another Day Framed Artwork, Picture Source
This isn’t a piece I would normally put in my own home, but it is stunning! We saw a trend of artwork with people and faces and there was something really special about this large-scale artwork piece.
6. Bauer Bar Cabinet, ART Furniture
I love the mid-century modern lines of this bar cabinet. It has beautiful detailing with the caning on the doors. The cabinet is smaller scale and is only 3 feet wide and a little over 4 feet tall, so it can easily fit in most rooms. Jordan is getting this piece for her house and it will be the perfect piece to serve fun cocktails from!
I love the sleek but feminine lines of this desk. It has a gorgeous textured finish that looks like fabric and the color is a beautiful gray with blue undertones!
I love the base detail and rustic wood finish on this table. It also pairs perfectly with the Norton Dining Chairs!
9. Norton Dining Chairs, Dovetail
I love the way these pieces combine rustic wood and natural fibers with fine details to make this dining group feel elegant, yet casual. I’m a sucker for caning, too!
10. Zelda Coffee Table, Gabby Home
I love the beautiful patterned wood grain finish on this cocktail table. The wood is slightly rustic and has a light, natural patina. The casual feel of the tabletop is elevated with a burnished gold metal base and lovely curved detailing on the table’s corners.
Kierstyn’s Product Picks
1.Morgan Chair, Century Furniture
I love this fully upholstered look with contrasting piping. It’s unique and modern, but also a bit traditional with the tufted seat cushion. A plaid fabric would look so good on this chair!
2. Boden Sofa, Rowe/Robin Bruce
One of my new favorites from Rowe/Robin Bruce– I love the clean look of the bench seat cushion and wood base frame!
3. Drapers Table, Woodbridge Furniture
Pictures don’t do this table justice! The perfect wood tone and texture, and I am loving the modern forms mixed with traditional hardware. Plus, there’s room for 3 stools on the back side and would make a beautiful freestanding kitchen island or bar!
4. Classic Leather Pendant, Revelation
This pendant is simply stunning! I love the contrasting black and gold accents, and the leather shade is the perfect detail!
5. European City Sketch Collection, Picture Source
Black and white forever! I love the mixed media in this art collection, with sketchy pen lines and watercolor. So simple, yet can add so much interest to your walls!
6. Jupiter Ottoman, Lexington Furniture
My favorite thing about these ottomans is the handle– such a lovely detail. Plus, they have hidden casters!
7. Litchfield Dining Chair, Century Furniture
A whole new take on cane chairs! I love the over-sized holes. So unique and attention grabbing!
8. Cape May Upholstered Twin Bed, Universal Furniture
THEE cutest upholstered beds! I’m a sucker for anything plaid. These would make the perfect addition to any kids room!
9. Malawi Arm Chair, Artesia Furniture
I love the unique style of this chair! Perfect for indoors or out, and adds a natural texture to any space.
10. Midtown Nightstand, Universal Furniture
Function and form– the perfect combo! I love the modern, clean line look of this nightstand, paired with this lighter wood tone.
2020 Fall Market Design Trends
1.Acrylic
From lamps to tables to chairs, acrylic has made a big appearance in 2020 and we are here for it! Whether on it’s own or paired with metal finishes, the transparency of acrylic pieces are a subtle way to make a statement in any room.
2. Exposed seams
We saw it again and again! Many chairs and sofas, leather or fabric, featured exposed seams. Although a more relaxed and casual look, we love how it highlights the craftsmanship of these pieces!
3. Colored leather
For many seasons (and still going strong!) colored velvets have been a big trend. However, your 90’s colored leather is making a comeback, but with a fresh and modern take! We saw lots of shades of blue and green leather.
4. Over-sized lamps
Go big or go home, right? Both floor and table lamps are making a statement with over-sized features. If you have the space for it, why not?!
5. Faces/Hands
Human anatomy has seen its waves of trend in home accessories. This year, we are noticing more facial and hand pieces than ever– from large, abstract facial pots to small shelf-sitting hand signal figurines.
We can’t wait to start using some of our new favorite products and design trends in upcoming projects. See something you like? Reach out to get started on your next project!
