I know this might be a swear word for some people at this time, but FALL is near… To brace ourselves for the big change, we are looking ahead with excitement at interior design fall trends. Here are some trends we will likely spot this season!
1. FLORALS
Bring on the florals! The floral patterned wallpaper pictured below is from Hygge & West, a local Minnesota company, and can be found here. We have a sample of the wallpaper hanging up on our showroom’s inspiration board for Fall. The colors in the pattern are very fall-like, with the rich rust, copper tones, blush pink, sage green, and navy. How can you bring florals into a room? Go bold with a floral duvet cover, or accent pillows. Add some dashing floral draperies, get that flora chair, or pick a pattern that sings for reupholstering your counter stools.
2. VELVET
While velvet has been around for awhile, we are seeing more and more of it. Velvet sofas, chairs, pillows, and more. Velvet has a luxurious look and can really dress up a room. Our designer, Brittany, has a dark navy velvet sofa that we LOVE. Don’t worry, you don’t have to go that bold and can find ways to introduce velvet as an accent piece, such as throwing in a velvet pillow. Velvet is great for fall as it is cozy and rich. Below are a few great options we’ve found that will have you becoming a velvet fan in no time, with designs by our own (Amy Leferink & Brittany Meidinger). 1. Crushed velvet ottoman; 2. Velvet sofa:
3. METALLICS
Copper tones (not the sunscreen), and brass are two trending metallics that we are all about. Not just for hardware, light fixtures, handles, etc. but also for fabrics. A muted copper color fabric could go nicely on dining room chairs, for example. Another cool idea? Metallic tile grout! Also, last month, Cafe Appliances rolled out different metallic options for appliance knobs. Check out photos below to see what we are talking about.
4. NAVY
If you follow our social media (Instagram, Pinterest, etc.) at all, then you know that we are lovers of Navy. Luckily, navy continues to be popular and trending. As said above, our designer, Brittany, rocks a navy velvet sofa in her home and it looks amazing! Navy is almost turning into a staple for wall colors, cabinet colors, and accent colors, which we have absolutely no problem with! Below you can see a rich navy blue color used for lower cabinetry in a gorgeous kitchen.
5. PINK
Give us all of the blush pinks! This subtle color is a great way to bring a pinch of femininity to a room. Blush pink can be great for an accent chair, pillows, draperies, or even in wallpaper. See an adorable chair, and a mid-century modern home that is rockin’ the pink!
6. PLAID/ BUFFALO CHECK
Plaid and buffalo check aren’t going away anytime soon. We love buffalo check… in pillows, chairs, carpeting, wallpaper… anywhere. We are all about it. Bring in some plaid with rich navy, red, and green to incorporate fall colors, or stick with more classic tones such as navy, whites, and grays.
Thanks for reading! We are excited to go to North Carolina this October for the High Point Market. We can’t wait to be inspired and share the details with you in an upcoming blog!
