Woodbury Magazine recently featured me in an article on home hobby spaces, including a home brewery and a golf simulation room. You can find the Woodbury Magazine article here. Whatever your hobby may be, we can help you create your perfect getaway!
HOME BREW MASTER
My clients, Jack and Sasha, (and little one, Brady) wanted to create a space for Jack to continue his passion for making beer. He began brewing 20 years ago and it was time he had a space dedicated to his craft (beer), especially since the brewing previously took place in a garage.
This high-tech, home brewery involved special venting, so this meant planning for it prior to the build. Used in this space are 5 gallon kegs which connect to a built-in kegorator located in their basement bar. Lucky guests and taste testers have a seat in Jack’s Taproom. The chalkboard wall is used as a canvas for creating formulas, and maintains a functional and stylish purpose. With 20 years of experience, I think Jack has brewing down to a science.
The style of their home is fresh farmhouse, so I wanted to make sure that aesthetic followed into this space. The brewery has an Industrial twist, with sleek, steel parts and an Edison bulb light fixture. To keep it fresh and timeless, I used classic white subway tile, and red brick. The floor is a water resistant vinyl that looks like wood. The farmhouse style Brewery sign was a perfect addition to this space, as it maintains the farmhouse look. Also, who doesn’t love a gorgeous sliding barn door? If you are interested in seeing more of this beautiful home, you can find additional pictures on our Pinterest here. Next up is a golf lover’s oasis.
HOME TURF
Paul is a golf lover who was trying to find time for what drives him… catch the golf pun? Four children and running his own business left him little to no time to get on the golf course. Once he and his wife were ready to build their new home, it was a no-brainer to have a room dedicated to the green. The space was designed by local architecture firm, Tom Rauscher and Associates, and I came on board to decorate after the build. Included in the room design was a bar with seating, so that friends and family can gather, and wait for some tee time. In addition to their golf simulation room, this family has a home theater… in case you weren’t jealous enough. See how to squeeze in a craft space next.
CRAFTY USE OF SPACE
Designing and decorating spaces that allow others to play and do what they enjoy most makes my heart sing. Don’t let limited space stop you, you can still find ways to incorporate your hobby. For example, see a craft/laundry room I did below.
We would love to help you create your Hobby Haven 🙂 You know where to find us. Thanks for reading!
